We've booked our honeymoon later this year through First Choice and upgraded to AIG as we feltit was right for what we wanted to do.

Low and behold we got a call from them last week saying that they had made an admin error and needed to up the price by £500! Charming as ever. Wouldn't even give us the deposit back which was a new level of customer service!

Anyone else had this call from them? Intrigued as I fancy making a big issue of this!

Hey Jon.

we are in the same situation as you, we are being charged an extra 74 pounds per day for 'all inclusive gold'....when we booked it we were told the price we paid included this but have since received a letter saying that we have to pay extra for 'all inclusive gold'.

we are also wanting to take this further but annoyingly we aren't getting very far with it.

Hi guys,

That's interesting to know that it isn't just us. To be honest if it was a small number of cases they'd have let it slide.

Got a brick wall at their call centre like you so a friend who specialises in travel law is checking a few details out for me so I'll let you know how that goes. Otherwise I suppose it's the old fashioned couple of letters, complaint to ABTA, Watchdog etc etc.

I'm not going to let it ruin my holiday but it has got on my... proverbials...

Cheers

Jon

Oh and by the way... they said they would give me the deposit back (not that I want it as I still want to go to Kuredu) but just so you know in case you want to argue that point!

Did you get offered a reduction to half price on the AIG upgrade? We did so if you didn't I'd have a pop at them for that! Useful to know about the deposit aswell.

Smile

Our honeymoon isn't til the 20th arrival so sadly I don't think we'll cross paths!

Hello

Sorry to butt into your conversation, and i am sorry to hear what you have had to go through - i have two points though.....

Point 1 - I went last year and Gold AI isn't worth it, do and drink what you like and you wont be able to spend that kind of money - a number of people we met agreed that they would never go Gold AI if they were to return - however obviously your choice.

Point 2 - If you can get your deposits back then i would suggest you ring Paul (01772 426590) sorry can't remember the name of the travel agents - he has just organised my second trip to Kuredu (October) and again he has saved me nearly £200 and the service is fantastic (He was recomended to me) He is ABTA and ATOL etc and will make sure everything goes really smoothly.

I know i certainly wouldn't use a company that had mis sold me a holiday - and i'm sure Paul (or other travel agents) will be able to get you on exactley the same flights / accom etc.

Hope you both get sorted out and enjoy your holidays.

Best regards

Kieron

Snappyjon. Have you sent a complaint letter yet? I did and they phoned me about a week and a half ago to say they will get back to me within 28 days with a response. Just wondered if you had got any further yet?

No I haven't sent one yet. There's something to do this afternoon then!

Still waiting for a revised invoice from them actually.

Nothing back yet from them. We already got it dicounted from an overall cost of £1,036 to £518 though. Did you get this from them initially?

If you didn't then I'd put a rocket up them even before!

Hi, no initially they wouldnt do anything. They just said we had to pay the full price. Then they said they would discount it from £37pp per day to £27pp per day as a goodwill gesture. This was after me writing the complaint letter. £27pp per day adds another £756 onto the holiday though which we cannot afford.

They've done it for us. Tell them you know others who have had the same offer and ask for a bloody good reason why they aren't doing it for you. And good luck Smile
